Our Egyptian “Allies”

Once again…whether it is Donkeys or Elephants in the White House our foreign policy makes no sense at all to those not living in the DC zoo.

Let’s use Egypt as an example.   For 31 years the United States has given Egypt an average of two billion dollars a year in foreign aid for the privilege of allowing us to call them our friend.

For the first 30 years of this of this foreign policy welfare plan we supported a dictator who suppressed his own people and lined his own pockets.  Some estimates are that the Mubarak family siphoned anywhere from 40-70 billion dollars from the country before he was forcibly removed by his own people.   This was all part of those friendly, pro-democracy Arab rallies taking place through the entire Middle East.   These are the rallies of “friendlies” that recently elected Muslim Brotherhood candidates to over 50% of all the legislative seats.

(Those are the guys who don’t like America)

If there is any good news in all this, it is that the majority of Egyptians no longer want the $2,000,000,000 in yearly American welfare that comes their way in the form of foreign aid.  http://www.gallup.com/poll/152471/egyptians-oppose-economic-aid.aspx

Obviously those in control in Egypt don’t share the same sentiment,  as a matter of fact they are threatening to cause problems for America’s closest ally in the region–Isreal if we don’t keep the gravy train coming.    http://cnsnews.com/news/article/muslim-brotherhood-warns-us-aid-cut-may-affect-egypt-s-peace-treaty-israel

31 years of foreign aid to Egypt = zero return on investment….once the new wave of “democrats” throw out the old batch of dictators…let’s try Libya and Syria Next?
